A Study of the Porto200 Film Sim

Based off of the work of photographer João Falcão (Instagram), the Porto 200 film simulation has a great nostalgic look to it. It brings back the look and feel of the photographs I found of my parents before me and my brother where around. A time when the roughness and unclarity of photos made them both unique and memorable. Because that’s what they are memories. My memories aren’t these vivid images. My memories are similar to this film sim, a little grainy, a little rough looking, never entirely in focus, and faded by time, far too much alcohol, and the inevitability of creating new memories that almost definitely cover up the old ones.
I do love this film sim for photos it’s creamy faded colors and beautiful shadows create both depth and blend in a well balanced symphony.
For video this film sim reminds me of movies like little miss sunshine, fgfgffgfgf, and ghjjjhghjg. This look of it slightly muted with the highlights being blown out but in a way that creates scale to images.
